Technical Details

The T29GN is an executive IP phone which supports up to 16 SIP accounts and has a built in two-port Gigabit Ethernet switch. This phone offers a high resolution TFT colour display and Optima HD technology delivering a rich visual and audio experience along with a very user friendly interface. There is support for corded, bluetooth (requires BT40) or wireless/DECT headsets supporting EHS (requires EHS36 adaptor).

Great value for the money!

This is a very high quality phone for the money. In fact, I think it is the best "bang for the buck" IP Phone available. It is very easy to program as an extension with systems like Asterisk, FreePBX, voiSip Cloud, etc. The handset has a nice heft and shape, along with great sound quality. The speakerphone sounds pretty good too. Screen is fairly easy to read, and the color display looks very high end. Price is low, especially compared to other brands like Cisco or Polycom. It has 10 programmable buttons, which can be grouped into 3 pages of 9, for a total of 27 buttons. That is a great way to get lots of buttons, but still in a reasonably sized phone. These buttons are important, and are mostly used for BLF (busy lamp field) buttons. BLF buttons let you monitor the status of other extensions (green = available, red = busy), and make 1 button transfers, rather than using complicated feature (*) codes. In my opinion, BLF buttons (aka DSS keys) are vital to getting the most out of IP or Cloud PBX systems. So get a phone with plenty of them. Disclaimer: In my job, I've used dozens of different phone brands and models over the years, including Cisco, Polycom, Aastra, Panasonic, Toshiba, RCA, Mitel, NEC, and more. So I may be a bit jaded when it comes to phones. I really like the Yealink phones, for their "bang for the buck". Just be sure that whatever phone you get has plenty of programmable buttons. If you want to save a few bucks, the T27G has B&W screen, and 8 buttons (3 pages of 7 for 21 total). If you want the ultimate, look at the T48G or T48S... with 7" touch screen display.
